Modular konfigurier- und prüfbare Automatisierungsarchitektur für zukünftige aktive elektrische Energienetze

The objective of this project is the research and drafting of a new, flexible system architecture that enables functions for grid automation to be implemented accordingly to current requirements and to make them more adaptable to future demands. A particular challenge is the functional testability of the system in terms of all possible configurations as a basis for certification for real use.

Procedure: The project comprises, amongst others, the extension of the architectural approach towards smart grid functions and the design of methods for automated 6and comprehensive tests of this new system solution. To gain reliable statements regarding the functionality and integrability of this system solution into existing grid protection and control systems, a pilot and demonstration set-up is to be installed and tested in collaboration with a grid operator. For this purpose, an adapted pilot set-up is to be integrated into the system of a substation or into various relevant nodes of the distribution grid. The long-term monitoring of the pilot set-up and its characteristic behaviour under real conditions shall provide further information about its system performance and shall enable optimisations.
