The ambitious targets of the energy transition, necessitate to leverage all existing potential for efficiency increase. Put differently, in terms of control and automation, different energy carriers and infrastructures have be considered from a holistic point of view. Prominent examples are building control, which combines electrical and thermal aspects (heat and cold) or the trend towards coupled operation of power grids and gas networks.
In this context, we work on optimization and control for multi-energy systems including the definition of benchmark problems for algorithm design.
