Parken und Laden in der Stadt

The project discovers the possibilities of parking and charging of electric vehicles on private parking areas. For this purpose, a new digital platform to connect the various actors is created. The platform not only provides a market place, but also optimizes the use of the parking and charging infrastructure based on real-time data from traffic, environment and power system. The aim of the project is to encourage the use of electric vehicles in densely populated inner city areas and to create new business models around electric mobility.

The main focus of ie3 is to create innovative charging algorithms and to put them into practice with the view to integrate electric vehicles more seamlessly into the existing low voltage network. The core of the project is a pilot case located in Dortmund. The project is carried out together with partners from the industry, the academy and the City of Dortmund.

Project Partners: TU Dortmund University (ie3 and CNI), Intessence, ef.Ruhr, DEW21, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Wirelane, City of Dortmund
